The Ownership structure & effective % section shows how ownership flows through the companies in a Group and calculates how much the top-level company effectively owns of each company below it.
1) Open the Group
Open the relevant Group.
Click Edit.
Scroll to Ownership structure & effective %.
2) Review the Top-Most Parent
GATHER.nexus identifies the company at the top of the selected ownership structure.
This company is shown as 100% within the Group.
3) Review the Ownership Structure
The visual structure shows:
The companies in the Group.
Who owns each company.
The direct ownership percentage.
The effective ownership percentage.
This gives you an at-a-glance view of the ownership structure.
4) Review the Ownership Details
The table below the visual structure shows:

Direct owner
Direct %
Effective %
NCI
The Effective % column also shows how the percentage was calculated.
For example, if the top-level company owns 80% of one company and that company owns 70% of another:
80% × 70% = 56% effective ownership
The remaining 44% is NCI.
5) Review Changes to the Group
When companies are added to or removed from the Group, the ownership structure may change.
GATHER.nexus automatically recalculates the effective ownership and NCI based on the companies currently included in the Group.
6) Review Groups With Separate Ownership Structures
A Group can contain more than one separate ownership structure.
GATHER.nexus calculates each structure independently and identifies the top-most parent for each one.
Important Note
The ownership percentages displayed here come from the information entered on the Company screen. You do not need to enter the ownership percentages again in the Group.
