How to Review Consolidated Figures in the Working Paper

The Working Paper allows you to review company figures, consolidation adjustments, and consolidated results in one place. You can expand individual months and review the details behind calculated figures without leaving the Working Paper.

1) Open the Working Paper

The Working Paper includes:

  • Profit & Loss

  • Balance Sheet

The information is presented month by month across the financial year.

2) Review Monthly Figures

Months are displayed across the financial year and grouped by quarter and half-year.

Each month initially shows:

  • Aggregated

  • Consolidated

This provides a compact view of the full year.

3) Expand a Month

To view individual company figures:

  • Click the Aggregated heading for the month you want to review.

  • The month expands to show each company separately.

  • The Aggregated column remains visible.

You can expand or collapse each month independently.

4) Review Minority Interest in the Profit & Loss

The Profit & Loss includes a Profit Attributable to Minority Interest section.

This shows:

  • Minority interest for each relevant subsidiary.

  • Total minority interest.

  • Profit excluding minority.

These figures are shown in the Consolidated results.

5) View the Details Behind a Figure

You can select an individual minority-interest amount to see how it was calculated.

The details include:

  • The company

  • The reporting period

  • Net Profit After Tax

  • The company's currency

  • The exchange rate applied

  • The NCI percentage

  • The resulting minority-interest amount

6) Review Balance Sheet Adjustments

The Balance Sheet shows the adjustments applied between the Aggregated and Consolidated figures.

This allows you to see how the consolidated result was reached.

7) Review Foreign Exchange Effects

Where foreign currency is involved, the Working Paper reflects the effect of exchange-rate movements on the consolidated figures.

The applicable exchange rate depends on whether you are reviewing Profit & Loss or Balance Sheet information.

8) Review Acquisition Timing

When a company joins the Group part way through a month, GATHER.nexus takes the acquisition date into account when preparing the consolidated information.

The relevant post-acquisition activity is included for the applicable period.

9) Review the Consolidated Result

The Consolidated column shows the Group result after the applicable ownership, acquisition, minority interest, and other adjustments have been applied.

This allows you to compare the original company figures with the resulting Group position.

10) Review the Calculation Behind a Figure

Calculated amounts can be selected to review the information used to arrive at the result, including the underlying amount, exchange rate, ownership percentage, and resulting Group-currency figure.

Important Note

  • The Working Paper is designed to give you visibility into the figures used in your consolidated results, making it easier to review individual companies, ownership percentages, exchange rates, and consolidation adjustments in one place.
