2) Advanced Formatting (K / M / B)
Represent Amounts As
None - full amounts: 3,500,000.00
Thousands (K) - 3,500K (usually no decimals or 1 decimal: 3.5K for 3,500)
Millions (M) - 3.5M (3,500,000 > 3.5M)
Billions (B) - 0.0035B (or better: show 3.5M instead of tiny B numbers)
Rounding / Precision
The system divides by the scale (1,000 / 1,000,000 / 1,000,000,000) then applies the Decimal Places setting for display.
Example: 3,456,789 with Millions + 1 decimal > 3.5M.
Negative values with suffixes
Apply same negative style: -3.5M or (3.5M) depending on Negative Number Display.
When to use each
None - detailed internal reviews, audit.
K / M - executive summaries, dashboards.
B - extremely large consolidated groups only.
