Overview

Account Mapping in GATHER.nexus links your local Chart of Accounts (COA) to your Group Reporting Template (GRT). This ensures your consolidated reports (P&L, Balance Sheet) follow a consistent structure, regardless of how accounts are named in each legal entity.

GATHER offers two methods to map accounts:

  • Manual Mapping

  • AutoMap with AI

Part 1: Manual Mapping Guide

  • Used when AutoMap confidence scores are low or unavailable, you prefer full control over mapping decisions, or your Chart of Accounts follows a unique naming convention.

How to do Manual Mapping:

Step 1: Access Your GRT

  • Go to Group Financial ReportingGroup Reporting Templates

  • Choose the relevant template and click the Mapping Status indicator (e.g., “2 Mapped | 29 Unmapped”)

Step 2: Launch the Mapping Tool

  • Click Setup Group Accounts to open the mapping interface

Step 3: Map Accounts

  • On the left: Your entity’s Chart of Accounts

  • On the right: GRT Codes

  • To map: Drag and drop the account to its corresponding GRT code

  • You can map a single account to multiple GRT codes if needed

Step 4: Save Your Work

  • Click Save to confirm your mappings.

  • Mapped accounts will now contribute to consolidation reports

Part 2: Automap with AI

  • Used when setting up for the first time, dealing with a high volume of unmapped accounts, or seeking AI-assisted recommendations.

How AutoMap Works?

  • GATHER.nexus uses Microsoft Azure AI to suggest mappings based on:

    • Account names

    • Account types (e.g., Expense, Revenue)

    • Your group structure and industry

How to use Automap with AI:

Step 1: Access Your GRT

Same as in manual mapping (see above)

Step 2: Click “AutoMap with AI”

  • System shows number of available AI credits (30 per month)

  • AutoMap begins generating suggested mappings

Step 3: Review Confidence Scores

Each suggestion includes a color-coded score:

  • 80–100%: Very High Confidence

  • 60–80%: High

  • 40–60%: Medium

  • 20–40%: Low

  • 0–20%: Very Low (manual review recommended)

Step 4: Review AI Rationale

  • Hover over the (i) icon to view the AI’s reasoning

  • E.g., “Matched based on similar naming and account type”

  • You can override any AI mapping with a drag-and-drop

Step 5: Finalize and Review

  • Apply mappings, then review GRT summary and mapped/unmapped count

  • Continue manually mapping if needed
