Overview
AI-Powered Account Mapping in GATHER.nexus uses Microsoft Azure AI to automatically map your entity-level Chart of Accounts (COA) to your Group Reporting Template (GRT). This accelerates your consolidation setup while preserving accuracy, especially useful for first-time setups or high volumes of accounts.
Before you begin, make sure these requirements are completed before using AutoMap:
GRTs are created and configured
All entities are connected via Xero or QuickBooks
Chart of Accounts is fully synced
You have at least Viewer access to the GRT
AI mapping credits are available (30 credits/month, auto-renewed)
You’ve reviewed naming conventions and account structures
Mapping goals for consolidation are clearly defined
When is AutoMap best use?
Used when setting up for the first time, dealing with a high volume of unmapped accounts, or seeking AI-assisted recommendations.
How AutoMap Works?
GATHER.nexus uses Microsoft Azure AI to suggest mappings based on:
Account names and types
COA structures across your entities
Industry-specific patterns
Past mapping behaviors in your GRTs
It generates suggested mappings along with confidence scores and rationale, which you can accept, override, or ignore.
How to Use AutoMap
Step 1: Access Your GRT
Navigate to Group Financial Reporting → Group Reporting Templates
Select the relevant template
Click on the Mapping Status link (e.g., “4 Mapped | 25 Unmapped”)
Step 2: Launch AutoMap
Click the AutoMap with AI button
Your remaining credit count (e.g., “28/30 available”) will appear
The system scans your unmapped COA and begins suggesting mappings
Step 3: Review Confidence Scores
Each AI-suggested mapping includes a color-coded confidence score:
Score Range | Confidence Level | Suggested Action |
🟢 80–100% | Very High | Accept or lightly review |
🟢 60–80% | High | Review before applying |
🟡 40–60% | Medium | Validate manually |
🟠 20–40% | Low | Use caution—manual mapping preferred |
🔴 0–20% | Very Low | Ignore or map manually |
Step 4: View AI Rationale
Hover over the (i) icon next to any suggestion
Review the reasoning (e.g., “Matched by name and account type”)
Helps build trust in high-confidence suggestions
You may override any suggestion by dragging and dropping manually
Step 5: Finalize & Apply
Accept the mappings you agree with
Review the updated Mapped/Unmapped status
Complete any remaining mappings manually if needed
