Create a New Role
Steps to add a custom role that matches your organisational needs.
Go to Users & Roles β Roles.
Click Add Role.
Provide:
Role name: use clear, function-based names (examples: UK Finance Manager, Consolidation Analyst, Board Observer). Avoid personal/temporary names.
Description: short purpose and scope (who should have this role and why).
Click Add to create the role.
Note:
New custom roles start with no permissions for security; you must assign them explicitly.
Name roles so they remain meaningful as your organisation scales.
Set Permissions (module-wise)
Assign access levels per module for any custom role:
1. From the Roles list, click Permission details beside the role.
2. For each platform module, tick the appropriate permission(s). Leave unchecked for no access.
Permission options:
All - full create / read / update / delete.
View - read-only.
Add - create new entries/documents.
Edit - modify existing items or settings.
Delete - remove items or configurations.
3. Click Update to apply changes.
Note:
Use All sparingly; prefer granular combinations (Add + Edit) where possible.
Permission changes take effect immediately for all users assigned to the role.
Manage Roles
How to maintain and control role lifecycle.
Edit permissions - open Permission details, update checkboxes, click Update.
Disable role - prevents new assignments but keeps the configuration for later reuse.
Delete role - removes it permanently (existing users will lose the role). The system will prompt for confirmation.
Create similar role - no duplicate button exists; create a new role and mirror permissions manually.
Assignment model:
Each user may be assigned one role. To give a user mixed capabilities, create a custom role that aggregates the required permissions.
